Pierfrancesco Favino stars in this war drama co-written and directed by Edoardo De Angelis. In October 1940, the Italian submarine Cappellini sinks the Belgian ship Kabalo in the Atlantic. Salvatore Todaro (Favino), the captain of the submarine, defies orders and rescues the 26 Belgian survivors who are stranded hundreds of miles from shore. However, if he is to succeed in delivering them to safety in neutral territory, the submarine must remain on the surface for days, exposed to attack. The cast also includes Johan Heldenbergh, Massimiliano Rossi and Luca Chikovani.
