gosford park was in my opinion a good movie that I thought was well written with a well thought out story line and a believable plot.The level of acting in this movie was of a good standard with all lines delivered in a well timed manner and it was this and the story lines as well as the interesting characters which made this movie enjoyable to watch. If you enjoy a well made movie I think you will enjoy this movie and as such is recommended by me.

Gosford Park is one of the all-time greatest of movies! After multiple viewings I still find something that needs extra attention. Just how many times was the murdered man murdered? How many went to the library when they heard the scream, and how many didn't move a muscle. Deception abounded, and although those downstairs were not permitted upstairs, it seemed those upstairs visited downstairs for more than simple requests for diets and polished boots or shirts for the shooting in the morning. I loved all the Rollers arriving with polished perfection up the stately drive for a weekend of more than the eye can see at first glance. Ivor Novello's music was the perfect background, and the ladies' frocks and jewels vied with the table laid with silver and crystal. If Gosford Park is not your all time favourite, certainly it must be right up there on the very top shelf!

For all those fans of Downtown Abbey who are looking for a movie in the same category, u can't go wrong with Gosford Park. The mansions, servants, wealthy & not so wealthy Earls, Dukes, Lords & Ladies. Sex, scandals even murder u get it all with Gosford Park. I loved this movie & am certain that you will also.

If you are a fan of Downton Abbey, and Agatha Christie type whodunits, Gosford Park will appeal. My only criticism is that is a little slow moving at the start. Set in the early 1930's,with a cast that includes a number of great British actors, this part comedy, part mystery will keep you entertained.
