use your illusion dvd is excellent! if you own the album and love it then you should purchase this dvd, i definatley recommend it to you. see all the clips that compliment the songs on the album, it is a must have for fans. the music on here is enjoyable and so are the videos. awesome stuff!

This concert isn't so bad if you can get past one thing, well two pairs of them - Axl Roses shorts. They are really horrible. This isn't some crazy exaggeration, this is the first thing EVERYBODY who watches this brings up. I don't think spandex stubbies were ever cool. During Civil War he changes his jacket and hat about 6 times, but sadly he doesn't put some damn pants on! The music on the other hand is good. It's Guns N Roses being Guns N Roses, although they really do feel some-what disconnected. This is post Izzy and Gilby Clarke, who I'm not a fan of, has taken over rythm guitar duties. The highlight for me was Slash jamming around to Voodoo Chile. I haven't seen the follow up DVD to this, and if Axl is still in those shorts I have no desire to.

Well then, I think everyone had high hopes for this, but the sound quality is jus TERRIBLE on this dvd, the drums sound like..well..bad drum miking...the guitars are quite low and meshy. Axl's vocals are definitely slipping here, he has trouble holding notes and hitting them.. resorting more to swearing and screaming instead of singing. I feel this dvd would be better watching if the sound were just less-crap..

We all know that Appetite for Destruction was and always will be the best, but the Use your Illusions Duo was a worthy follow up in my opinion. Slash’s guitar work is excellent as always, there’s a bad note or two by Duff McKagan, but all in all it’s good listening especially 15 years on when you listen to what’s happened to the hardrock scene since then. Make sure you get Illusions 2 as well.
