Tom Canty (Mark Lester) is a cockney street urchin with an uncanny resemblance to Prince Edward (Mark Lester), son of King Henry VIII (Charlton Heston). After a chance meeting with the young Prince of Wales, Tom and Edward decide to see how the other half lives, playing a prank on their respective families. Switching roles they each enter a new world of opportunity and challenge. But as one is thrust into the privileged world of royalty, the other is forced to survive the harsh underworld of Tudor England.
