Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning star in this charming romp about a young woman and a young girl who are thrust together against the odds but ultimately teach each other something about life and love. Murphy is Molly Gunn, a rock and roll princess whose father was a famous music legend. She lives wildly off her inheritance--until the man in charge of her money takes off with it. With bankruptcy staring her in the face, she is forced to do something she never dreamed of--get a job. So she becomes a nanny--for precocious Ray Schleine (Fanning), an eight-year-old who acts more mature than she does but doesn't have much fun in life. Boaz Yakin's comedy is filmed throughout New York City--including in Coney Island, Williamsburg, Henri Bendel's, and Central Park--and it takes advantage of that setting like few recent films. The streets of the city are another character as Molly and Ray slowly begin to develop a relationship that neither one ever dreamed would happen. The movie features support from Heather Locklear as Ray's very busy record executive mom, Donald Faison as Molly's party-loving music friend, and Jesse Spencer as Molly's musician boyfriend, who did all his own singing on the film and whose work appears on the soundtrack album.

While this isn't my favourite movie, it's cute, fluffy and fun to watch every now and then. Brittany Murphy is upbeat in this and Dakota Fanning steals each and every scene she's in (as she does in every movie of hers). She is such a talented little actress with a massive future. She plays the part of a brat perfectly and that brat is tamed over time by Brittany when she becomes her nanny. It's a cutesy movie that is lighthearted yet also sometimes a little moving. I do like these kind of movies where one character can change another for the better. That's what happens in the relationship between Fanning and Murphy. They help each other realise the important things in life.

yuck, more brittany murphy and her sloppy acting. the one that really shines in this film is dakota fanning, who plays the little girl with perfection, as she is so dam cute and smart as well. once you can get past annoying brittany murphy, then you will find a rather average film, with few funny moments.

Brittney Murphy is the little girl who won't grow up until she finds herself forced to. Her financial advisor has run off with her cash and she finds herself with the only job she can find, as nanny to a little girl who needs to be more of a kid. Together they teach one another to act their ages. I loved it, and you will too!

I didn't really like this movie. I thought it wasn't funny, and the drama element was alright but not as good as it could have been. I don't think the producers reached the goal and it could have been a lot better in my opinion. All though I have to say Dakota Fanning is a brilliant actress, and i think this was a bad movie / career choice.
