Songs by incredible guitarists such as Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana feature on this second volume in the GUITAR MUSIC FOR SMALL ROOMS series.
This Warner Canada collection picks up where the first volume left off, gathering smooth acoustic and electric guitar instrumentals from a variety of genres for an ultra-mellow listen. The mild bossa nova phrasing of Eric Clapton's "Reptile" kicks things lightly off, followed by some typically talented stuff from well-known axemen like Santana, Jeff Beck (doing "Greensleeves"), and Pat Metheny. Bruce Cockburn's "When It's Gone, It's Gone" is a gentle melancholy, while "I think It's Going to Work Out Fine" is Ry Cooder's breezy, hopeful response. Other highlights include "Santa Fe" from Ottmar Liebert, and jazz player Wes Montgomery's "Bumpin' on Sunset." ~ Johnny Loftus
