About the Author

Barbara Pepe, local historian and professor of New Jersey and United States history, is a board member for the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield and the Advocates for New Jersey History, as well as being a member of the Monmouth County Historical Association and New Jersey Lighthouse Society. Her engaging narrative, accompanied by vivid historic photographs, brings this central New Jersey locale to life.
