Arnold B. Scheibel, University of California, Los Angeles, convener of the Eighth CSEOL Symposium, is a Professor of Neurobiology and Psychiatry at the School of Medicine of the University of California, Los Angeles. Esteemed internationally for his studies of structural changes in the aging human brain, Dr. Scheibel is the author of more than 200 scientific publications and a Fellow of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Norwegian Academy of Sciences. In 1986, he was selected as the 61st UCLA Faculty Lecturer, “the highest honor the faculty can give one of its own." J.
