About the Author

With more than thirty years experience in the ceramics field, Moyra Elliott brings to her writing a background as a maker, an educator at tertiary level, a public gallery curator and seven years as Director for the Fletcher Challenge Award. She continues to work in the field - as a contributor to a variety of journals and magazines, a consultant for institutions and a speaker at conferences. Dr Damian Skinner is an art historian and curator based in Gisborne. He is interested in twentieth century New Zealand art and craft, and he has worked with a number of galleries and museums around the country. His most recent books are The Carver and the Artist: Maori Art in the Twentieth Century (AUP) and Alan Prest on: Between Tides (Godwit).
