ANDRES NEUMAN was born in 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and published his first novel, Bariloche, at twenty-two. The Traveller of the Century, translated into ten languages, won the Alfaguara Prize, and the prestigious National Critics Prize in Spain. This novel was selected as one of the five best Spanish-language novels of 2009 by El Pais and El Mundo, and Neuman featured in Granta's recent publication Best Young Spanish-Language Novelists.
